Our Rides

We run regular Group A and Group B rides as well as easy-paced social rides. We are always delighted to welcome new riders so why not read about our rides below and see which suits you best? Alternatively, get in touch on Facebook or by e-mail if you have any questions regarding any of our rides.

We look forward to welcoming you on a Blaydon ride in the very near future.

Group A – Approx 18mph
Group B – Approx 16mph
Social Rides – Approx 13mph

Group A rides are definitely not for the faint-hearted. These challenging sessions will be high-paced, and you will be expected to take your turns on the front with enthusiasm and determination.

Group B rides are designed for regular cyclists who want to ride at a fairly swift pace but still have plenty of breath left to engage in enjoyable discussions with their fellow riders along the way.

Social rides cater to those who enjoy spending nearly as much time in the café as they do on their bikes. They are an excellent opportunity for beginners to build confidence and learn how to ride effectively within a group setting.

Everybody is Welcome – Members and Non-Members Alike

Anybody is welcome to join any of our rides. The social rides are probably the easiest introduction to the club and if you enjoy them, then the faster paced Group A and B group outings await.

Once you have joined us for two or three rides as a guest, we would expect you to take out club membership.

If you do choose to join and A or B Group, then please familiarise yourself with the route and, if possible, have it on your GPS device. Please also take note of the terrain and judge whether it is within your capability.

We will agree ride leaders for the groups before we set off. That person will be available as a single point of contact and to ensure, where possible, that the group stays together and acts in accordance with club guidelines. They are not there to act as a personal assistant to anyone who arrives ill-prepared. If you find you are struggling, it is advised that you let the ride leader know & either turn back, continue at your own pace or arrange to be picked up.
