Welcome to the home of Blaydon Cycle Club
Different cyclists have different needs, that is just the way of things. Some want to ride hard and push themselves, some want to race and others are happy sauntering along at a gentle pace while enjoying the companionship of a social ride.
Established in 2013, Blaydon Cycling Club aims to cater for as wide a membership as possible while priding ourselves on our friendly approach to cycling.
Ultimately, our simple aim is to get as many people on their bikes as possible……..and enjoying it!
Road . Triathlon . Gravel
Cycling offers many disciplines and Blaydon was originally focussed on road cycling. However, times change and these days, we find ourselves catering to a more diverse range of cycling activities. The club has a strong time trialling contingent, the Triathlon side has grown rapidly in recent years and we also have a burgeoning interest in gravel riding with events organised through our members’ forums.
Your ‘Social’ Cycling Club
We have a very relaxed approach to the Club’s operation allowing for great freedom and scope in Club activity, particularly when it comes to ability levels. Far from throwing everyone together and hoping you keep up, we have a number of groups with their own activities from very gently-paced Social Rides to Club Runs with groups for different abilities/paces.
Whether you are completely new to cycling, someone who enjoys the leisure side of cycling, a commuter, or an out and out racer, we have a group to suit you. At present due to British Cycling guidelines and club liability issues, we can only accept riders aged 18+ please contact us with any questions regarding this. We may look into youth riding in the near future so stay tuned to our website and social media channels.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
