Unlike some other clubs in the Northumberland and Durham Cycling Association (N&DCA), Blaydon is not an out-and-out race team and yet our members regularly appear towards the top of the end-of-season Best Average Rider (BAR) standings.

2025 HILL CLIMB PALMARES
There can be few things in life as painful as a cycling hill climb done properly and yet every autumn, cyclists flock to the steepest slopes in their region and beyond to take part in competitive ascents. Blaydon is no exception and we’ve had huge success locally and nationally in recent years, not least in the female categories where 2nd claim rider and long-standing Blaydon member, Rachel Galler (pictured middle), was crowned Female National Champion no less!
To cap an incredible for the club’s female contingent, the evergreen Sarah Wilkinson placed 3rd in the Female Veterans category.
