Women-Only Charity Time Trial
On Saturday 26 September 2026, Blaydon will host a wone-only time trial in support of Newcastle Women’s Aid, a charity that supports the female victims of domestic abuse.
The event was originally scheduled to run on 26 June 2026 but biblical rain just an hour before the start (in the driest summer for decades) scuppered our plans and the event had to be rearranged. There were 120 women due to ride and although over 50 have had to withdraw due to the rescheduling, an amazing 115 are signed up to ride.
The event takes place in Stamfordham, Northumberland with the first rider due off at 09.01am. We would love to see people come along and show there support. There will be refreshments and support in the village hall as well as a raffle with over £1,500 worth of prizes.
The previous record for female participatipn in a North East time trial is believed to be 27 (some of the riders that day are pictured below) so it’s fair to say that 115 entrants is absolutely smashing it! We can’t wait!!
